Wow you're one lucky dude! That is a great looking buck. How far was the shot and how far did he run after the shot?

Yes sir, I'm lucky to have a friend like Mike. I don't mean just the hunting ranch either. Mike and I hunted together and shot archery together for the last 25 years, long before he had his own place. As far as that goes we have had great success at my place as well as leases throughout Texas. Last year we started using traditional equipment. Traditional is all we both shoot anymore, and we are hooked big time.

The shot on the buck was 12 yards quartering away, the buck expired on his feet but ran about 30 yards. The top of his ticker was completely wrecked. It all happened very fast after the shot  :)

I finished my skull mount today and I thought that I would share with y'all. I am not certain about the plaque but it is what I have for now. A week later and I'm still like a kid at Christmas  :)

Hey, buddy! Congrats on a great deer and I really like the mount! Great job! I didn't see this sooner, cuz I was busy getting skunked in the bear woods, but I'm glad I got to see it!
