Arrow dynamic experience
« on: October 09, 2013, 09:12:00 PM »
I have been wanting to try some arrow dynamics . My bow is a 62 inch, 46 @29 and my longbow is an A&H 47@29.  What is the best arrow to try? Tradlites, hammerhead, hammerhead lite? What's the difference in shafts?     Tim in NC

I'd go Trad Lites for sure.

The AD's are exceedingly tolerant of when it comes to using them from different bows.  I believe from lightest to heaviest goes; X-lites, Trad Lites, Hammerhead Lite, Trad, Hammerhead.

I shoot AD's from all my bows with the exception of the ones that are cut very far past center.  May just be me, but, I don't think they fly as well out of bows that are cut 1/8" to 3/16" past center.

But when it comes to my MOABs, Kanati, and Northern Mist bows...my choice, hands down, is AD.

Those are my weight ranges and I've been shooting the same Trad Lites since 2006. They are a very durable shaft!

Another fan of Trad lites being tolerant of a wide range of bows and draw weights.  You are pulling much farther than my short arms(25" draw here) but I sho0t trad lites from 45-60lbs. with great arrow flight.  My arrow set up is roughly 450 grains with a Woodsman up front most of the time and get more true pass through penetration with this set up than anything else I have ever hunted with.  Even with my 45@25 Jess Stuart bow.

Trad Lites or Trads. Depending on if you want a heavy point or a real heavy point.
Hammerheads will work but will probably require more point weight yet.

I have shot AD's since the early 90's
played with others but sure can't find a better carbon shaft in my opinion.

Have tried a few others and now will never use anything else. Tradlites out of my 47-50 pound bows.

I have been shooting 175gr tiger sharks or VPA.  It looks like I need to try the trad lite. There is not much info out there that describes the different shafts that they offer. I have been shooting Axis for years.

I like trad lites and hammerheads. I killed a deer last night with a hammerhead and a treeshark. Worked like a charm!

Yep... Best carbon out there I'd like to add also, and I've tried a wide range to know.
