I shot this doe about 5:30 this evening. I have been waiting on a North wind to hunt this spot. I got a NE wind today so I slipped in there. this spot is a great afternoon hunt. the deer transition from a large pine plantation through a section of hardwoods making their way to a large food plot. it is a 7-8 acre wheat field. early in the year the deer make it to the wheat field right at dark so I slip up in the hardwoods to intercept them during daylight hours. the acorns here have really started falling, I can pattern them really well in this section of the woods. I have shot several deer off this ridge. i shot her at about 15 yards. i hit her a little forward in the left front shoulder. my arrow passed through both shoulders. she ran about 75 yards
