arrow question?
«

Getting new arrows wife said I could!!! I'm shooting my viper 50#@28 and I draw 27. I shoot split finger and 150gr heads. What shaft should I get? I'd like to order from a sponsor and would like to shoot at least a 30.5" arrow. I'll wrap and fletch myself. Any suggestions fellas?

Why so long if your drawing 27"?
What type of material are you wanting?
I shoot 50@28 bows and draw close to 28". I shoot anything from easton legacy's 2016 with 145 up front to 65/70 wood.
I started with carbon but regressed. Mainly because wood and aluminum are easy to tune, cheap and plenty good. If I had a arrow cut off saw I might mess around with high FOC carbons again. For now bough I'm more than happy shooting wood and aluminum and the result I get on animals with them.
Good luck

I like the length for my quiver and weight. Looking for carbon but I would definitely try aluminums!

Rocky Mountain Specialty Gear is a good choice, good shipping rate too I believe!

Various bows, but if you see me shooting, it's probably a Toelke in my hand!

I would think GT3555s would be just about perfect at 30.5" with 150 gr points and standard inserts. They sure fly well out of my bows at about that weight.
I like the 3555 Trad blems from Big Jim, who is a sponsor on here with great service, prices and shipping times.

I'll second the GT35/55 or Carbon Express 150.

Alaskan Grizzly stocks
I have a 27" draw and shoot a 55lb silvertip.
My arrow is cut to 28 3/8" 586g I have 150 tip and can shoot 125 150 or 200 with almost the same flight. 150 is best.

Funny that's what I just ordered GT 3555 with standard inserts at 30". Gonna do the wraps, knocks, and fletching myself. Pink wrap, white nock, solid pink hens, trad barred cock feather.

do yourself a favor and get some carbons, some goldtip 3555's hunters cut to 30 inches and also use some 100 grain brass inserts, the carbon express heritages 90's will also work but the brass inserts won't fit them, the high foc is an advantage, there might be some heavy inserts that could work but I don't know of any. maybe somebody will chime in.. the other option is to use a 200 plus grain broadhead. try it you'll like it...
