It finally happened (pic)
« on: October 15, 2013, 11:05:00 PM »
After work, Jeff and I went to try to thin some more does. It was a south wind so I decided to put Jeff in  the stand I hunted last Friday.  I told him how the deer would follow the edge of the rhododendron and to pick a spot. I then went up the mountain and hunted one of my rut stands on a ridge. I got busted, they came from the one spot I did not want.
Back up to last winter, Jeff wanted to switch from a compound to a recurve. We found a Tall Tines in the classifieds that belonged to Kentucky TJ. He practiced  all spring and we went to some 3d shoots. I knew it was just be a few more sits before he connected. It's late, I will post the pic and he can tell you the story.   Great shot. I will be the first to congratulate him on his first trad deer.

Timmy, you are always welcome at our house!  Cathy and I would love to have you up for dinner.   20+ years of catching up will take awhile.....last time we hung out was with Bill at a New London 3d shoot!    :dunno:
