After work, Jeff and I went to try to thin some more does. It was a south wind so I decided to put Jeff in the stand I hunted last Friday. I told him how the deer would follow the edge of the rhododendron and to pick a spot. I then went up the mountain and hunted one of my rut stands on a ridge. I got busted, they came from the one spot I did not want.
Back up to last winter, Jeff wanted to switch from a compound to a recurve. We found a Tall Tines in the classifieds that belonged to Kentucky TJ. He practiced all spring and we went to some 3d shoots. I knew it was just be a few more sits before he connected. It's late, I will post the pic and he can tell you the story. Great shot. I will be the first to congratulate him on his first trad deer.
