Where to start? Tim has been trying to thin out some of the does on his property, so I quickly volunteered to help out. On the First sit I missed a large old doe, and another 1 1/2 old doe. On the second sit, I saw three does with no shot opportunity. So yesterday we decided to try it again. I climbed into the stand around 345pm. It was a good location with multiple oak trees. the wind was out of the E, SE, Most of the evening. Around 630 I caught movement over my left shoulder as a yearling walked down the edge of the rhododendron. I eased up into a standing position and got my bow in anticipation of others to follow. While I was preparing, Out steps a large mature doe and another yearling. They walked into a clearing about 20 yards away. When She turned broadside I picked a spot behind the shoulder and drawled to anchor. The arrow was off. As they bolted I couldn't tell you if I hit the deer or missed. The yearlings returned and started eating but no sign of the large doe. After they feed off I descended the tree to inspect the arrow. It flew true. She only ran 25 yards and fell in the rhododendron. It's the best feeling in the world. I am glad I made the switch to Traditional. I would like to thank Tim for all his help through this process.
