Bill,

They look like kitty slayers to me.

Any chance a couple of prototypes might fall into that "Purple" shipment in a couple of weeks?  You have my information if they do.   ;)
The broadhead used, regardless of how sharp, is nowhere as important as being able to place it in the correct spot.

I had a little bird tell me that a 3 blade Grizzly was in the works!
I hope you use the same steel as the regular Grizzlys.
175g is perfect in my opinion. I'm really excited to get some of these!!

Sorry I'm so late getting back to your questions. It was just to perfect of an evening not to slip out to the tree stand for a few hours. A big ole' slick head happened into range and ended up with a Grizzly run through her.

Delivery date?
I can't really say for sure. I  am trying to have some for Kzoo but that will only happen if all the stars align. Things just dont usually work out like that. Especially with something this new to us.

Larger sizes 1 1/4"?
A larger cutting diameter is a possibility BUT that requires more dies. It is not cheap to have dies built and its going to take some time just to recover this investment. Dont look for the wider heads any time to soon.

single bevel or double?
The 3 blade will be a double bevel.

What steel?
We are going to use the same steel as the Grizzly's are made of. 1075 carbon steel. The plan is to also make them the same hardness as the Grizzly's.

No prototype heads in the house right now, Walt. Its going to be a few months. The dies are suppose to be ready about mid to late Nov.I plan to have the steel sitting here waiting for the dies. Even if everything was to go perfectly it would still take 5-6 weeks before we would have heads on hand.

Thanks for all the encouragement folks!
This has not come easily and it has not come without the help of some GREAT FRIENDS.

If only it was coming in 200 grains this would be the ULTIMATE glue on broadhead!!!!! I don't like adapters.

You can always tamp a little lead into the ferrule and you could probably hit 200gr fairly easily. Looking at the design I'd imagine that the ferrule is much deeper than you need for the point taper.

Will these heads be hollow ground? I think that might be a nice idea with the 3 blade expecially because it allows you to put an edge on them very quickly without using course stones and bulk material removal. Since you'd be honing at a steeper angle than the factory grind it would be very fast to get to a razors edge.

Bill,

I had to try   :biglaugh:

Maybe you will have some ready before my Brown Bear hunt in Alaska next spring.
