Arkansas Boy Deer (pics)
« on: October 19, 2013, 12:13:00 PM »
I shot this buck in north Arkansas about 10 days ago in the first 30 min of my hunt. It was a complete pass through at 12 yards with the arrow breaking off on the nock side of the label.

When the deer turned to run off I could see the fletching behind the shoulder. I was surprised to see the rest of the arrow laying on the ground.

I was shooting a Dryad Orion ACS RC 42# @28"
GT Trads 3555
Onestringer reflective wraps
3-4" feathers
STO 130 grain heads (KME sharpened)
485 total weight arrow.
Thanks to Tradgang member "Friend" for helping me with a arrow recipe for this bow.

Very nice buck.  I'm hoping to get a nice, mature 9-point that I missed last season that's still there.  Of course if a buck like yours shows up, I'll take it too if it gets within range.
