when ordering a new bow I know you have a price range but for 400 bucks i doubt you'll find much out there for bowyers,, its a deposit though and with a timely wait you can make payments to the bowyer while your waiting so when finish time comes just pay the shipping.

Or look into Two Tracks (also a sponsor) he has a real neat 52" Ambush Bow that I've had my eye on for some time. Not 3 piece but a cool little bow.

Just curious, why such a short bow?

If your specifically wanting a good short bow check out the Kodiak Magnum, plenty of used ones out there, smooth drawing bows IMO. Too short for my taste though.

I have a 58" longbow which is nice, but i hunt in a tree stand most the time, and am getting into ground hunting right out of a folding chair. Both would be quite easier with a shorter bow. I've had just about everything larger then 58" and decided about time to try a short bow. I'm still in the air about recurve and longbow, I love longbows, but would like a bent stick for my states shoots (divided by bow classes).

I've also gave in, and going to make a deposit and just get one custom made. Im ready for one  ;)

Sierra blanca bows. Here is a 52" he just made for me. They are based on the old Rocky Mtn Recurve. I have two bows by Jess. Very nice work and affordable. They start at $500 I believe.

Two Tracks Ambush is 50" but Chuck is a great bowyer in every sense of the word.

Edge, consider a Big Jims. I just got one and am loving it.    A 54 inch take down Thunder Child, it fits in my Safari Tuff Quiver for travel. It feels great and shoots more deadly than anything else I've ever had.

Salt, I actually had one of his older TC...

I regret selling her, but needed to get rid of one to afford the new(er) one.

Drifter, that is a attractive looking bow!

Thanks all for your input, I do beleive I've made my mind up. But don't want to spill the beans... I don't plan on putting a down payment until I get the holidays out of the way. Got to make sure I get the girlfriend and mommma bear gifts! Then I can spend.
