Turkey Rug Mount
« on: October 23, 2013, 05:02:00 PM »
You might remember some of the stories posted here about our Nebraska turkey hunt this past spring at the Klintworth ranch. It was another great trip, and a bunch of turkeys no longer reside in Nebraska as a result.

There are both Rio's and Merriams on the ranch, and Tippit and I each wanted to do something different with one of our birds.  We found a local taxidermist here in Wisconsin that does a turkey rug mount, and I picked them up yesterday.  I think they came out really nice!

I've seen them displayed like that before but always hung the other direction without the beard.

I think I like this better.

Very nice. I have seen a rug before but not the way he does the beard and spurs. I like it.

Really nice and different approach to a fan mounting.  Taking it to the next level.

Fitting tribute to a hard earned trophy.  First blind less bow bird.  Congrats again.  What a year you've had old boy.

I would like that better than a full mount. That looks nice.

Very nice Joe, I have seen them done this way before, but not as a rug. Like this much better.
