Overdraw has nothing to do with banking.
Hmmmmm. I know you think you understand what you thought I said, but I'm
not sure that what you heard is what I actually meant!

Woodies, and aluminums, aren't always straight.

When I tell someone I shoot three under and cock in....well....they just look at me with their mouth open.

Drop the string...no you don't have to pick it up.

A take down is not a wrestling move.

A tab is not a soft drink from the '70s.

A field point has nothing to do with a bird dog.

The rug rest is not where my beagle sleeps by the fireplace.

Elvis did not invent the hip quiver.

Burning a hole has nothing to do with the morning after eating at Chili's.
There is no great fun, satisfaction, or joy derived from doing something that's easy.  Coach John Wooden

An "R/D" longbow is not in research and development.

"Cut to center" does not refer to butchery.

"Tillering" is not a gardening term.

"Backing" is not a financial term.

"Butts" do not reference a part of the human anatomy.

"Flu-Flu" is not a dance term.

Daffynitions according to my Archery Dictionary:

"Split Finger"...a common archery injury.
"3 under"...where my arrows usually land
 (measured in inches)
"Barred Feathers"...those not legal in all states.
"Front of Center"...a good theater seat.
"3D"...really small shoe size.
"String Nock"...an early sign of bow engine failure.
"Reinforced Tips"...when the guide or waitress is serious about gratuity.
"Fast Flight"...useful when you need to get to your hunt spot quickly.
"Draw Length"...the maximum span of time allowed when selecting extra cards in a poker game.
"Side Plate"...used when really extra hungry.
"Cast"...occasionally necessary on shoulders due to excessive archery shooting.
"Target Tip"...a shopping aid for a Minneapolis based chain store.
"Plucking"...required work prior to Wild Turkey dinner.
"Creeping"...anticipation at the Red Traffic Signal.
"Elevation"...your pulse rate increase when the game shows itself.
"Windage"...breeze born on date.
"Release"...the long awaited delivery date for your new bow. (Sometimes as much as 12 months)

no the #55 on my bow does not mean I have 54 other bows... I wish.

"your porpossing because your shaft is hitting the rug too hard... um ... you're nocking too low... um er. "   A lady said this to me when I was tuning at the range... she became a dead ringer for a tomato when I started grinning at her.

what I mean by 'hand shock' is... oh nevermind!
