The frequency of shot opportunities has been very nice for me, with the busy schedule of the life I've created. Work, marriage, 3 kids between 2 and 8, and a teenager, all limit the amount of time I can spend in the woods. In years past I'd talk about the 52 days I spent chasing deer, the 3 weeks for elk, or the multitude of species I pursued each fall.
Well life has certainly changed! Running the bear hunting business eats up plenty of my vacation time, as does family camping each summer and scheduled events that revolve around the family. This was the first year I did not have the entire month of November off to hunt deer. Having the month off each year would allow me to handle family responsibilities and still have plenty of hunting time.
With the limited time to hunt, plus the desire to self video my hunts, I knew that holding out for "that" buck was not an option. Well before the season started, I committed to taking the first respectable buck that presented an opportunity.
