Pass around Tuktu Ex TD
« on: November 09, 2013, 03:14:00 PM »
Here is the deal. I had an accident in my shop where a new Tuktu TD Ex went flying around in my shop and hit a few things. I have 3 white spots on the limb so it won't go up for sale. I have shot it many times and I don't think there is any problem shooting it. Eventually it will become a backup bow for myself. If I have enough interest I will send it out for testing.

The bow is a 60" 54# @ 28" it has a flared riser with shedua and wenge in the riser, the limb veneer is shedua on the face and  striped myrtle on the belly.
Please send me a personal message with your address and phone number.

I have never done this before so enlighten me if I'm going about it wrong.
Abe

Pm sent.  Funny, saw this right after my post asking about the featherhorn profile.

Paul Hentschel wrote."Usually when a bowyer does a pass around, he sets a few ground rules. Such as only members that have been such for at least one year, and with at least a 100 post count. Also the current guy testing is responsible to pay shipping to the next guy and to do so in a timely manner, while keeping the thread updated as to how the bow performed, it's location, etc. Also how long each shooter gets to keep the bow is sometimes stipulated. Of course, this is all up to you. These are just a few of the things that I've noticed in previous pass arounds. "

Thanks this is the kind of stuff I'm looking for.

I agree that this is for members of tradgang that are in good standing. Just not sure how I would manage the posts thing you mentioned.

What kind of a time frame is normal (a week)?

Yes you will be responsible for the shipping and insurance to the next guy.
Abe

Another strategy is take the first 10 or 15 requests so that your bow isn't out there forever. A week minimum, as working guys may have precious little daylight time to shoot in the winter.

Looks like your "little accident" in your shop might turn out to be a good thing, Abe. Seems to be lots of interest out there.

To those sitting on the fence out there: I got my one piece Tuktu Ex in the mail yesterday from Abe and I can't put it down.  I've been shooting my arm off in my basement all day and all I can say is.....WOW!  I love it! Give it a try. It blows me away how a bow can be so pretty and shoot so nice. Static limbs, great invention.  Nice going, Abe.   :clapper:

Just to clarify I would like a "private message" sent through tradgang . This is to help me keep track instead of checking my 2 email address and the time sent.

What have been the time allotments in other pass arounds?
