Home from two weeks chasing elk
« on: September 10, 2007, 09:17:00 PM »
Saw lots of animals, good views and great camps for over two weeks.  Packed into wilderness areas for six or so days to get sleeted, snowed and rained on.  Had a great 6x6 walk by my hammock while I was trying to wring out my cloths and warm up. Called in a few but no shots. Overall a great time, the only thing I brought home was this set of horns I found in a bog buried up to the last few points.  The local dow officer stopped us on the highway just to take a look as this area seldom has a bull like this.  I didn't tell her that we called up on just like him and got within about 60 yards on a bigger one.  Hope the pics work.  Bill

Wow!!!
And God was with the lad; and he grew, and dwelt in the wilderness, and became an archer.  GEN-21:20

Wow, again!!  Did you take her home with you?  I notice her putting the cuffs on you.  You young turks are all alike  :)

We hunted east of Aspen.  The topography was tall and rugged. To get to where we saw animals and sign was a good 5 hour trek just to go 3 miles but it was a 2000-3000 foot increase in elevation.  bill

Sounds like FUN!!
"People say you can't go back, its like when you get to the edge of a cliff and you take one more step forward or you do a 180 degree turn and take one more step forward. Which way are you going? Which one is progress?" Doug Tompkins
