Vets Day 8pt.
« on: November 11, 2013, 09:25:00 PM »
Got this dude checking out one of my mock scrapes and Wensel's wicked wicks trick. He came in about 4:30 this afternoon quartering with the wind at his back when he hit the scent stream, did a 180 and came right in. I had to wait about twenty minutes for him to clear the overhanging limbs. Then he turned and started walking away when my 600g footed cedar shaft and two blade zwickey caught him through both lungs. He went forty yards and crashed. I used my homemade longbow,62" 65@my draw.

I see your still at it Bill.  My family owned a 400 acre farm in bear Delaware in the late 1960's. Great buck.

I had the exact same experience last Monday, 8 point, both lungs at 10 yards. Spent all day Tuesday looking, and never found him. I am so glad it worked out for you. So cool with footed shaft cedar arrow, and a bow you built.
Very happy for you!!!! Very nice deer.

Super nice buck! Great job.

Is it me, or are there more bucks down this year than in the past?

Congrats on a beauty of a buck! Doesn't get much better than having them in your lap for 20 min before the shot.  Now how about a pic of the homemade bow?

:archer:

PS: far rider I know that the buck to does ratio seemed way different than I had ever experienced it before. I saw more than double the number of bucks over does.
