Nice day on the mountain.
« on: November 14, 2013, 04:46:00 PM »
Well, I should be eating my words on one of my last posts. The action has been hot the past few days. There is a big 10 point that has been cruising a particular sector of the big woods, and what do you know? We have been sitting there too. The only trouble I am having is getting him in close. He has been chasing Does all around us. For me 50-100 yards away.     :banghead:    All I can hope is he comes close next sit.  The view from my spot in my main shooting direction .

Took a mid day break at a favorite outcroping of granite. The view from there.

Later, a climb to the top of the AT (Appalachian trail). This is a rough climb, but we were hoping for some Grouse  just over the top. Didn't see any though.

I had to head home early to meet the kids at the bus stop. Great day to be alive.
I will give thanks to the LORD because of his righteousness and will sing praise to the name of the LORD Most High.

That is awesome - I miss big woods hunting.  I am typically in a tree watching farm equipment and can see multiple houses from most of my stands.
