Lynx attack on Corsican Ram( France)
« on: November 17, 2013, 02:18:00 AM »
I witnessed a Lynx attack on a young corsican Ram in France:

It seems a heart bit though          :D

10 yards shot with very steep quatering away angle. Entrance in the femoral area and exit below the neck beetwen front legs. 60 yards easy recovery.
In my country, in free range area those animal are really tough game to harvested with trad gear. The youth of that Ram, the good wind and a part of luck helped me enough though.

Lynx recurve from Dan and Jared Toelke at Montana Bows, 59# at my draw, 300 gr Big Jim broadhead.

Awesome Job!!!   Beautiful animal.  Reminds me of our Mouflon Rams…  I can relate to "rams in free rage area being tough to harvest".  Very keen animals.

Aloha!

Congratulations!  Nice ram and a fine bow too.  Is the knife a Grohmann #4?

Yes when young like this one they are rather tasty but you must completely gut them imediately. When getting older we put the meat resting in milk or yogurt for a day or two before cooking.

Last year i killed an old one during the rut: for that one, we needed to be really hungry   :D
