I never could find a wound on the dead 8 point. He looked to be dead for a few days. The only thing was he had blood in his mouth. He also had bluish skin under the hair on his neck. His tongue looked normal, and he didn't look like he had been the loser of a buck fight.

Awesome buck!  I can't say I've never had my opportunities at some nice Illinois bucks,  I've been fortunate to take several decent ones,  but the big bruisers have alluded me.
