Does anyone still make the adapter that mount on wood shafts to be able to interchange tips in the field?

You can make your own out of pieces of aluminum shafts. Use 2216,s for 11/32" and 23 sized shafts for 23/64 size woods. Take a piece of aluminm shaft and just start pushing it on the wood shaft and turning it. It will start taking off the wood the thickness of the shaft, for the 2216 that would only be 16 thousandth of an inch. Go back about an inch and pull it back off. Score little groves in that part with a knife for glue. Glue on a piece of shaft and your done. The outside dia. of the aluminum should be exactly the same as the wood for a perfect fit. Works great for repairing woods that break just behind the point. Almost all my judo point arrows are like this. I get the pieces of aluminum shafting from the cutoffs at the archery shop. Bob

I don't know about Herb's adapters, but the ones I tried years ago were a real bear to put on straight. I have started using aluminum footings when I need to, like Draco above. I have found that a 2413 shaft is a perfect slip fit on an 11/32 wood shaft, and then you can use the 2413 insert to screw on any point you like. The advantage of the slip fit is that it goes on dead straight every time, and it's easy!
