52" New R/D "Lost Creek"
«

I decided to build a "Lost Creek Envy" that was compromising to the varied issues found while hunting in the timber....The multiple adjustments needed due to Nature's natural growth/foliage. With this amazingly short 52" 47@28" "Lost Creek Envy" I was able to accomplish what I set out to do. The new "Envy" is adaptable to small enclosed areas while in treestands or blinds due to the shortness of it's limbs(allowing for longer draw length in enclosed spaces), and a shorter, smaller 13" riser allowing for the allusion of longer limbs which allows a smooth draw without the usual stack or pinch that short longbows are usually known for... I am extremely pleased with both the cosmetic appearance and performance from this new, shorter R/D longbow.

I' ve got two "Envy form the one form is for 58" to 62" bows the second from will be for 52" to 56". This bow is very mild reflex compared to my past bows I've built. This longbow has what very few bows have easy to shoot, great cast and low hand shock. Its a very balanced bow and a keeper for sure.

You must be still liking the Ebony 58" Envy.I will keep you in mind. I took it hunting tonight and had a giant come in to 35 yards and he would'nt come the last ten yards so I could get a clear shot. This bow is so sweet in the stand or on the ground. A 54" bow would suit your long draw better. The 52" bow is great to 28" 56" bow to 30"

Yup! The ebony Envy still makes me shake my head every time I shoot it. I have a few bows that cost twice as much new that don't have an edge on it.

Could you post a full draw pic? The strung picture makes it look like it could use a power lam to keep it from hinging...

I apologize for the delay in answering concerning wood choice. Black Glass W/a maple core and a Bocote riser w/Bocote accents. Also pics below of the "Envy" at full draw...

I'm still working on the the bow form currently.... the humps or hinge look at brace are due to a reverse taper on this glue up. I've used all parallels and forward/reverse tapers and so far I like all parallels best. I'm also adding 1" of reflex to the last 7" of this bow design and will continue tweeking the deflex of the riser section and length to get it exactly where I am satisfied with the designs cosmetic appearance w/o compromising the designs performance. I gesticulate around 4 weeks before completely ready to offer to the public.... so far its been a fun Fall project. This bow shot thru the chrono at 179fps... three shot average.... w/a 430 grain "Gold Tip" arrow at 27.5" draw(the bow scales 45.8 at my draw length)

I really like the looks of it and the size would be super cool. I do believe that with such a short riser, you would benefit from a power lam to push the bend further out, and perhaps some tip wedges to keep it from stacking too quickly.
Keep up the prototyping!!
