If you're cheap like me check out The Sportsman's Guide.  Military surplus wool pants.  I have several pairs - though I prefer bib overalls in heavier wool (especially if I try to use the cargo pockets for cargo) so they don't wind up around my knees from the material weight and gravity.

Swedish wool pants.

I have wool pants in ASAT from Day One...extremely happy with them. Like any good product not cheap but you will get years of good use from them. Any of the above quality wool pants will give you years of hard wear. Depends on your budget....also Day One is made in the USA.

I've got the Cabela's Wooltimate pants and just bought some of their Cabela's Outfitter Berber Fleece Series WindShear Pants and like the fleece best. They aren't as heavy..to wear and have zippered lower legs, zipper cargo pockets and zipper right back pocket.

And me...

I found some heavy green wool military pants at a flea market. Tightly woven wool. Just gotta wait for below freezing weather to use them. They are thick!! Only a couple of moth holes...

Charlie ( Stumpkiller ) It's funny how geniuses think alike, I have one pair of wool surplus military wool pants from the Guide also, and they are great, and so was the price.

I bought several pair a few years ago when they had them.  Haven't seen the Swedish wool pants lately.  Bought some Romanian, or near there, surplus pants.  Sizing was way off, had to return them.

x2 on the old/new stock foreign military wool.  I picked up 3 pair for $9.00 from sportsmans guide or some such site years ago and they are great.  Heavy weigh, quality made and have big cargo pockets but NO rear pockets.  I prefer this for long sits with no butt bulk.  They have sewn in metal suspender buttons too.  Only came in grey instead of some new fangled camo pattern but the deer never complain.

I have the fleece with windshear. They are light weight and quiet. I have been in some cold windy weather and stayed toasty warm with expedition weight thermals and the fleece.

This talk got me the itch to buy one more pair.

Will post up a pic when they arrive.

Less than $20 shipped...can't beat that, but, like mnetioned, hope the sizing is good....Eurpopeans are on average a bit thinner than us Americans  :(

I won't buy anything with wind shear after my experience with Cabelas fleece bibs with wind shear . If you moved on a cold morning you crackled . Is that a word   :)

X2 on everything SportHunter said, including the burrs. Oh, well, it gives me something to do while waiting for the deer to show up. Lately, I've done more burr picking than I'd like...dang deer!   :banghead:

Sporthunter- is the windshear lining noisy? [/b]
I don't notice much noise with these pants. I have a berber windshear pull over that is LOUD also from cabelas, no clue why there was such a difference. I wouldnt buy the pants again due to the burr collection problem, it is a pain to deal with. The outfitter pattern works well though, the berber doesnt collect that many burrs where as the wooltimate is like a burr magnet.
