New to me Predator recurve.
« on: November 26, 2013, 03:00:00 PM »
From the postman to shooting in mere minutes.  Even though it's raining I tossed a string from another bow on her and ran a couple of arrows through.

First Predator I've ever shot.  Very smooth draw and even though the grip is different from all my other bows it was very accurate for me.

Need to twist-up a new string and get her out in the woods tomorrow.

Looking sharp, let us know how it shoots when you get that new string on.

I love mine too,,,, you have to get one of those SBD strings before you tune arrows.. mine was even better with the 8  strand string with the installed silencers SBD makes.

Looks just like mine!Predator Hunter with a solid Bubinga riser. Nice old school look. Love this bow. Brace it to 7 3/4 - 8, throw on a Bear Weather Rest and a Fred Bear Bow Quiver and you've got a keeper! Good luck with the bow Magoo

What are the specs?

Congrats on the bow, it's always nice to breathe some new life into an old or used bow. Hope she serves you well.

I've owned two, one at ~ 56# and one ~66#.  They are awesome bows.  I switched to shooting lefty or I would still own them both.  You will like it I am pretty sure.

I had one with those specs. Jason Kendall wanted to try one, so he took mine in partial trade for one of his Kanatis.

The grip worked for me. It was different, but I could see why it was designed the way it was. Didn't fuss about it. Just shot it and did quite well. Kind of wish I still had it.

I have been a Predator shooter for 15 years...there are four in my house.

Brace height is EVERYTHING for a Predator...when it`s right , it`s SO right...when it`s wrong, it`s SO wrong!

Find it, and enjoy!

Very happy with mine.   I have the Hunter DX 60" w/ both 59# and 50#.   Smooth and zippy.  I have a hard time getting it to be a silent shooter though.
There's only 7 days in a week. Someday is not one of them.

I sold one like that, same weight even. I have owned several Predators, the ones I shoot the best are almost even tiller. I let them go if they are above 1/8 positive (some have been 1/4") those don't shoot well for me. Cost me a lot of money to find that out. I don't think any of the Predators I owned were the same tiller. Nice bow and hard for me to find something that shoots better for me.

I've had two of them. A beautiful custom classic and one of the old Predator IIs put out by Darton that Ron made for them.

Both shot really well for me. I shoot three under but I was still able to get them quiet with only two wool puff balls installed on the string.

I would still own a Predator except now I prefer lighter mass weight R/D longbows.

I've seen that bow with copperhead skins before, that is a very sharp bow. I too have a predator classic, it is now my #1 bow.
