HHmmmm.....from the looks of the hide and fur on that deer, best I can tell it's a 9 pointer(give or take a couple of points) with good brow tines and one drop tine on the left antler with split G2s. And he's 3 1/2 years old.

That's the best I can tell without seeing a little bit more of him.....      :saywhat:    ;)    :p    :dunno:

For starters let me just say it has been a very very slow bow season. I got laid off from work and hunted just about everyday. The deer sighting are at a best nonexistent . The first part of the season I past a shot on a small doe. That doe has been the only deer that was in range for my recurve.
I have been really wanting to break in my new bow I made last summer. The Simmons I got off of a fellow Tradganger have been setting in my quiver waiting to be used.

BrushWolf - Congrats on your kill - "The deer sighting are at a best nonexistent"

Until the DNR gets their heads on straight (I really wanted to say something else...    :)   ) get used to it, because it likely isn't going to change until hunters tire of not seeing or killing deer to where they quit buying tags....  Then maybe the DNR will begin managing deer again, for they'll have no money to manage...

BrushWolf - Sorry to rant, but couldn't resist with your comment, especially on this first day of gun season today...

Again, congrats on your kill, looking forward to the story...

All right just got home and set down. When I left home I headed for a ground blind setup on a narrow grown up funnel. This place has been prettygood to me over the years.

Not long after I was settled in I saw a deer sneak by. It appeared to be a small spike but I can't be all that certain because of the brush.
