For those who use Timber Ghost, does it work well on the ground? Looks like a great pattern for the treestand.

Been using Silent Stalker this season over a gray wool shirt. Breaks up the outline real well.

Timber Ghost is a pretty open pattern, sorta like the old ASAT. It blends/disappears in most terrain.

Dang it Roger!  Stop posting sweet pics of patterns I don't have!  Timber Ghost is definitely my next purchase!

wow, thanks roger....definitely think I made the right choice!    :)    I think it should work well in some of the open oak flats where I use my climber (not many low branches to hide behind, so the openness should help from getting sky-lined.

I have an ESB and a similar plaid from several years ago.  My next will likely be a Timber Ghost.

I got the timber ghost and got the wife evening shade brown. I like hers a little bit better although I think the timber ghost is great camo in the tree especially a white oak. I asked for the evening shade brown for Christmas.

Does Timber Ghost work on the ground? Well I don't really hunt from the ground, but I did a test. I put the TG and ESG back in the woods about 20 yards or so, had a few limbs and leaves between me and the wool. The ESG looked very dark, kinda a blob. The TG blended very well. If I closed my eyes for a few seconds and then opened them the TG took a second to really come into focus.
I shot a doe a week ago in open hardwoods. She looked up at me once but didn't make me out.
I also love the hoods on the Ashbel wool. Doesn't interfere with my shooting with a cap on under it. And I feel like it hides a lot of head movement.
ESG would be great in pines or earlier in the season.

We bought two Timbr Ghost zip ups with no hoods and LOVE them !!! I think TG is the most awesome pattern Theresa has. Absolutely INVISIBLE in a white oak tree where we hunt. A lot of this trees are in open clearcuts too so you have to have a light open pattern or you become the dreaded "Black Blob " against the sky and you guessed it...... BUSTED !!!

Roger..... pic says it all bud !!!   :archer2:

I just saw this on another archery site:
 http://whitetail.com/camo1.html

Based on that, I think Timber Ghost will be just the ticket for tree stands and even ground hunting. I wish Roger Norris offered his anorak in a lighter weight wool and Timber Ghost (hint - hint).

I don't see Shadow Plaid listed anymore but it looks pretty close to Timber Ghost.  Maybe Teresa just changed the name?

I'm well pleased with my Asbell wool.

Rob,
That Toelke super d you bought from me , I took a deer with it while wearing ESB. 9-10 yard ground shot. Never saw me.

ESB is my favorite. Just picked up another from Teresa and it is a real nice weight. Feels thicker than my last. I was wearing Timber Ghost in the snowy north Idaho woods a couple weeks ago. Blends real well. Silent stalker green is also a must have. IMHO those are the 3 to have. ESB/ESG, Timber Ghost , SSG.

And get the Sherpa fleece vest!

Hey Stumpkiller - I believe she is out of that Shadow Plaid (I have one also)....Timber Ghost is sorta the "new improved" version of that . Teresa and I were just talking about that pattern yesterday. That is when I first started thinking of different plaids in terms of camouflage pattern (don't misunderstand, Fred and Teresa always were). Anyway....just recently, Teresa got an email comment...."Evening Stand Brown is the new Realtree"   :bigsmyl:  i thought that was pretty neat....

Is there ever light or light/medium weight available?

Thanks for the pictures everyone. I just have a vest now (SS), but see some Timber Ghost and ESB in the near future.

Looking forward to trying it out this weekend!

I was told that Teresa would ship my latest order last week; so far, the mail gal hasn't brought it. But, good things come to those who wait.
