You did the hard work....lol  You had to choose!!

I know that you will not be disappointed.

The only real trouble that you could possibly run into is a diminishing bank account from wanting another one of his bows of a different design....lol

I suggest if that happens, just go with it because it'll be worth it!!

God bless,Mudd

For me it was around 3 months, but since Mudd has found his kindred spirit in a bow I think that may have changed.  Much to James liking no doubt.

They are special and James is so willing to walk you through the process.

Dan as Mudd stated you actuall had to do the choosing, I'm glad my enjoyment of James bows helped you decide.

You will be very happy with the bow, I can promise you that. But you are in for a diminishing account because you can't stop at just one berry

ihave ordered alot of jd.berry bows over the years. i always look forward to ordering the bow and talking it over with Mr.Berry. thats half the fun. i look forward to ordering my next. if nothing else to speak and plan a bow with someone as knowledgeable as Mr.Berry.

I don't see a Northern Star on the website. How is it different from the Misty Dawn?

Paul,
The Northstar is a reverse handle like the Morningstar, but te limbs are stringfollow instead of reflexed

I own both. A true head to head is impossible for the pure fact that my Morningstar is 68" like my other straightlimbed bows (which happen to be two JD Berry vixens and a Misty Dawn) while my Northstar is 62" and heavier but....,,
As far as smoothness goes they are both extremely smooth, the Morningstar seems a touch faster. With the Northstar being stringfollow  the finish is softer, but I actually prefer the feeloif a reflex bow or maybe the snappiness.

Thanks Brian. I have a Morning Star but it's right handed and I shoot best left handed. I figure the only way I'll get a lefty is to have JD make me one and based on your input I'll be going with Morning Star. Compared to my Big River Hill, my Morning Star has no shock or even snap whatsoever (and I like my Big River a lot too).

I'm glad you could make out what I was trying to put into words.
Bottom line they are both great, I just tend to prefer backset as opposed to stringfollow .
I also prefer my vixen over my misty dawn for the same reasons

There's a reason that my JD Berry "Northstar" is named the "Amazon Queen" and my JD Berry "Vixen" is the "Amazon Lady".

It's purely personal preference.

In truth, both are awesome bows and you could not go wrong with either.

I think Brian has done a good job describing the differences in "feel".

I have been struggling with myself... Dang it!!

I want to complete my straight limbed collect of Mr Berry's bows.

I think a 68" 48@28 "Morning star" will have to be in my future.

I have so many things I have to pay for..like fixing my car. I dinged it up good being a "smart alec" and telling Butch I could show him I was smarter than him because I was going to back my vehicle to the cabin door so unloading would be easier..HA!

A stump grew up on the offside of my HHR while sitting in the original spot I parked upon arrival.

God bless,Mudd

I was thinking of naming my Morningstar Little Dutch 2. The first Little Dutch was 96 pounds.  Venus is quite often referred to as the morningstar. Astronmers don't get to excited about it, but it is nice when one is heading out before dawn looking for that secret turkey roost. Oh man, there I go again, I wish it was spring already.
