Trad equipment thru the mail?
« on: December 06, 2013, 05:37:00 PM »
There are no trad archery suppliers anywhere remotely within driving distance of my home, therefore, all my trad archery equipment must be ordered by mail. Herein is where the frustration comes in. A common problem seems to always rear it's head when ever ordering anything thru the mail......... someone messes up my order! Of course it doesn't happen with every order- thank God- but it happens much to often. It seems a common problem for me no matter what the product is, be it whatever. I hate dealing with people over the phone that are given the responsibility to fill orders, but yet have no knowledge of the products. Maybe I'm just overly disgruntled right now, but at the cost of shipping and returning useless merchandise, can't someone get it right at least once in a while.............what say you?

all I ever do is order. raptor archery has always done well. for that matter 3 rivers is always on the ball, with three rivers I do everything on the internet.
for that matter I cant recall a single instance where I had a archery order messed up from any vendor, and I buy a lot of misc things.

You order over the phone?  I think there is a greater possibility of making mistakes when saying or hearing something to someone over the phone than there is in ordering over the internet.

I know some people are afraid of placing a credit card order over the internet, but that's the ONLY way I've done it.
Never had a problem, with the order, OR the card.

The phone is not the problem. I always have them confirm my order to every pertinent detail. Still they get messed up. Never had an order messed up by 3R, but that's another story!

I've had issues with the big shops that I can't name here because they are sponsors. I don't buy anything from them any longer.
Now I use the Nocking Point. I like the fact that the owner is the guy answering the phone, responding to the email, pulling and packing the order, and taking it to the post office. Much smaller chance for mistakes when the owner is the guy you're dealing with, he knows the importance of getting it right.

My only problem buying online has been that your buying stuff without being able to see it in person. Doesn't matter so much on little stuff but some of your more expensive items your just gambling. My bow quiver comes to mind. Well made but crowded with 3 blades.now what.. Go with 2 blades, another quiver or just be disappointed.actually I bought another bow so I'm buying another quiver any way. I've also decided I'm going with 2 blades from now on. But still it's frustrating some. But hey what are you going to do ,around here can't even buy a bowstring or a head over 125grains. I feel ya.

I didn't read all the replies, but I'll say I order from Braveheart and Big Jim 99% of the time. Never had an issue with either....and that's about 3 or 4 years worth of ordering.
