Two Tracks Wool In time for Christmas.
« on: December 13, 2013, 09:30:00 AM »
I told my wife that my Camp vest and my Headband have been saving my bacon out in the field these past few weeks.
She said "Well, Lets offer them at a sale price. In time for Christmas"
So,

You can now save on these two items, they are in stock and ready to ship.
We have plenty of HeadBands but only two XL camp vests. So if you ever wanted a great wool vest, now is the time.

With a few threads going on wool right now it got me to thinking about what I do and why I do it.

I LOVE my LongHunter vest. It is my got to hunting garment for warmth AND stealth. With the large pockets, it also helps me carry my gear.(The pockets on the Camp vest are a tad smaller but can still serve as a place to store things and keep your hands warm).
The Longhunter stays on as the outside layer unless I toss a rain coat over it. Sweater(s) are my under layers.
I will most of the time wear my Camp vest under a jacket. This keeps my core about as warm as can be imagined. I also noticed that if I do wear anything over top of my Longhunter, I will start to cook with little effort.
Our felt is thick and soft and builds a lofty layer of insulation between your body and the cold. In addition, the nature of the felts construction will make it inherently more wind resistant than a woven fabric, and softer to the skin as well.
All in all I think that the closer the wool is to your skin the better it will work for you. That is from over 25yrs of wearing wool and over 10yrs of making and wearing wool felt. I love it.

If anyone is in the market for a vest, chucks wool is amazing.  I've never seen wool quite like it.  I do wish I had a vest in the clothing drawer. I have used several of chuck's other wool products and they are great.  This year I used the headband too quite a bit and really liked it.

You need to put up a picture of this headband.  Is there some elastic in it?  How does it fit different size heads or adjust?

No elastic Steve.
The felt does have some elasticity to it, we also have a small, medium and large size to fit most.
The sizes run about like most S, M, L in hats
I wear a 7 5/8 hat and the large headband fits me fine.
Here is a picture with a ball cap and no hat.

OK, did not realize there were different sizes.  Looks very useful.

You do need to get a better looking model; that alone would would increase sales 1000%.    :D

Merry Christmas to you and the family.

In the works.
We have made them in the past, but after some use I decided to re-vamp the design to incorporate some new ideas. it should be different than anyother muff out there. I will try to have it finished soon. We have had a whirl-wind 2013, I hope to have several new and cool things to show you all soon.

Hope to see you there Colin.

I just came in from snow removal duty. Several hours at ZERO degrees
HEAD: Toasty with a HeadBand on. No Issues!
Torso: Toasty With camp vest on under my snow plow jacket.

Feet/Toes: COLD! Why you ask? NO Insole installed and a big hole in my boot!(that's why the insoles was taken out)
Situation has been fixed.

Guys--I have been hunting a long time and have owned a lot of good to great hunting clothes made of many different materials. Nothing, I mean nothing is as well made as my Two Tracks Longhunter. There's wool--which is great--and then there is wool felt (no comparison). Chuck and Chris do a great job. Hopefully, I'll be able to get to Kzoo and try out a few of their products, again. Peace!
