another plaid picture thread
« on: December 16, 2013, 11:15:00 AM »
Well its sunday. Time to relax, and keep the fireplace burning hot. I just ordered an asbell esb and now daydreaming of its arrival.
I love the classic sportsman website. Seeing all the plaids at work in the field. Whether it be with a bow, a fly rod, or in a canoe! Great pictures!
It got me thinking. I can do search on trad gang and find a million asbell wools with a bow in hand in the fields.
What about showing off those plaids (asbell, classicsportsman, woolrich, no names, etc...) While participating in our many other wonderful outdoor activities. Camping, fishing, hiking, snowshoeing,, canoes/kayaks!

Well Sir, since this is a traditional bowhunting site, and they are pretty strict about breaking that theme......you will probably just get stuff like this:

"Good Lord....well, your new name is Sledge."
Ron LaClair upon seeing the destruction of his new lock on the east gate

"A man that cheats in the woods will cheat anywhere"
G. Fred Asbell

Buckeye...that was my first trad deer back in '01.... The shirt was a used pendleton I bought at a salvation army thrift or a goodwill store for a few bucks.   I liked the extreme contrast of the dark reds and light tans.   As George Stout used to say - 'Team Goodwill' lol.

The bow is Meg (as in Meg Ryan - she doesn't have the biggest curves but she's pretty).  :)   , Osage self-recurve I made same year from a split of a log Pablo brought back from the first Mojam.   Gawd I miss those days!

Love my Asbell ESB…

And I love hunting in my Dad's old Pendleton wool shirts that he handed down to me.  These two are nearly 30 years old…

This should be fun! I'll see if I've got any good ones.
Plant a fruit or nut tree today, and have good hunting tomorrow.
