Elk hunting in dark timber?

I have had some luck still hunting in dark timber. A lot of the country I hunt just can't be glassed and to find them I will go still hunting through the timber. I do stay in the fringes more during the early parts of the hunt so I don't push them out of the area. Later in the hunt I will get more aggressive and still hunt them in their bedding grounds. Favorite last day tactic.
