I was perusing Bob's website yesterday and looking at his In Stock Cheyenne risers.  I saw one that was labled A riser that's made out of Leadwood with black and white phenolic accents.  I gave Bob a call about another B riser that was in stock and he told me I should take a look at the B riser at the bottom of the page.

I said "Bob, I see an A Riser at the bottom of the page."  He told me the heading was mislabled and the riser is a B rather than an A.  So, I bought myself a Christmas present!  Bob also told me it's a very pretty and heavy wood.  I can handle that, I love heavy risers.

Bill

PS I'll post some pics after I receive it.  Bob's already updated his website to remove the riser I bought, so I couldn't copy the pics on his site to post.

Bill,
I'd have put you on my zebrawood if I'd known you were riser shopping and playing Santa for yourself, lol!

Richard,

I seriously thought about contacting you, re, your Cheyenne riser. But as I recall it's an A riser, isn't it?  I need a B riser, that's why I checked Bob's website.

Bill,
Yes, I caught that and you are correct it is an 'A'.  Always been a fan of shorter risers and longer limbs.  My Shawnee is the same combo and even shorter than the Cheyenne, even though both are 60".  Have a Merry Christmas when you open Bob's present!

Richard,

Thanks!  Had your riser been a B riser I would have jumped on it.  It's a gorgeous riser.

Ryan,

If you keep going back and looking, you'll be buying a new riser like I did!    :biglaugh:

Tom,

I'm in complete agreement with you.  Bob told me he is bringing out a new limb, the Max II.  It is built on the same form as the Max I, but will have an inch or so longer hook on the end.

I'll take and post pics as soon as I receive the riser.  Hopefully, Saturday!

I picked up my new Cheyenne B Leadwood riser today.  After I put my Max I limbs on the riser, strung it up and shot it, I found it to be a phenominally accurate shooting bow.  I love the finish Bob put on it.  Below are some pics of the bow unassembled and assembled.

The PH we hunted with in Africa back in 2005 had a buffalo carved from leadwood. I know why they call it that!

It's a great looking bow, it's an even better shooter than it is a looker.

Looks fantastic! I have never heard of leadwood before but I guess its good solid stuff from the name. What's the riser length and how much does it weigh?
