Natural Ground Blind show em
« on: December 18, 2013, 02:25:00 PM »
My love for hunting on the ground has really grown the last few years.  I have always for the most part used a Pop up blind for my hunting.  Since I hunt a lot of public land and even on my private property I have experienced some theft lately I am thinking Natural Hides may be the way to go.  As lest in some situations.  Like to see some pics of your Natural Blinds with the most interest in how you set up the front for the shot.

After doing it for a few years..
It's really important to have cover/blind behind you to blend in with.

Here is one that I used for a bear bait in Idaho this spring. The bow had to be canted quite a bit, but logs in front gave a lot of concealment with a still clear view ahead of me.

This is a natural blind I sometimes use for deer hunting. Open in front, but with Asbell\\'s Evening Stand Brown, I blend right in.

Here's a view from the bench above my ponds to my blind behind camp;

The view in a couple directions;

The deer usually come from this way, the built up stuff lets me get ready for a possible shot;

Here I am trying to be sneaky;

Here's a look at a blind from another blind on the public block down the trail a ways;

Another public one;

Other side;

A closer look at the first blind;

This fallen limb is a good spot to see deer from in the evenings;

The "front yard" blind at camp;

Early season view;

The front and left side of my blinds are generally just below shoulder height, with a tree or built up materials behind to break up my outline...

The best tying I have found for Ground blinds is, to build one as good as you think you need it, get in it and take a pic of yourself.

This will let you see what "they" are seeing.

sometimes you need more stuff and sometimes less.  I like to brush them up as much as possible and leave smalll (8inch or so) holes to shoot through.  typicaly they are 4 feet tall.  They dont have to conceal you completely, In fact you can get away with tnothing in front if you have  a lot of backcover.   Back cover is most important.

Heres one that brought deer and bobcats into my lap

and no blind with a ghillie

Relax,

You'll live longer!
