I Need a Bow for a Young Man
« on: December 19, 2013, 09:25:00 PM »
I'm looking for a decent recurve in the 50# range for a young man who has just returned from a two year Church mission here in Upstate New York. He had to go home for a while for surgery due to cancer. He came back and finished his work for the Lord and is now back home in AZ. He can't afford a bow and I would like to buy one and send it to him. Anybody have a good affordable bow I can buy from you. This young man said to me today, when I asked him about bowhunting mule deer around his home, that he has an old compound but it isn't the same as hunting with a recurve, but he can't afford a recurve. He really enjoyed visiting our home and seeing some of my bows and the "Man Cave".

Send me a PM if you have something.

Thank you!

Terry,  He can Have my Ben Pearson Special Bow I used for bow fishing with you.  I never made it out last summer, Last time I went was with you.

I know my Dad has a bunch of bows.  I can buy one of them for him and have it shipped to him since I know he has been planning on thinning them out.  All of them are older recurves like Brownings and such.

Give me a text or a call, we can talk about it.
Relax,

First post on here, but I have a 45# Bear Grizzly that I just bought about 2 months ago. It's my first traditional bow, but I would be honored to give it to this young man after he's given so much to God's work. If he is interested just let me know.

Terry he needs some arrows as soon as you get a bow for him , Let me know the # and his draw, and i will make him up some (thumper arrows)
Archery is: Getting as far away from the target as you can, and still hit it.
Bowhunting is: Getting as close to the target as you can, and not miss!

Ok, you guys are amazing. I really hated to ask as I normally have a bow or two to hand out. Unfortunately, I gave away my last one earlier this year.

Charlie, you need to keep your bowfishing bow. We need to make the time to go. I only went a couple times last year.

I tried to empty out some of the PM. I hope it works now.

My personal Email is [email protected]. Send me a note there and we can work out the details.

Again, you guys are amazing. Craig, I'll let you know the specs.

Jon, Mike, and AZ, I really appreciate it.

He is a great young man who is having a tough time. He is likely to lose his mother this year as well, also due to cancer.

You guys are WAY too generous. MH2324 is willing to give away his personal bow. AMAZING!

This young man is also very talented. He told me he worked in silver and I had an idea for a nice Christmas present for my kids. I sent him some gator teeth and look what I got back.  It has their initials on it. He filled the cavity with epoxy and built the post and silver around it. Very heavy duty and quality work. Of course, he said it was a gift for being so nice to him. That didn't fly. I hopefully made it worth his effort.  Guess whose getting some bear claws next!  :)   If you have interest in him doing some work for you, send me your information and I'll forward it to him.

My email was returned. I have some GT 35/55's they are full length and uncut. I can help him tune them and cut them for him. Also let me know if I can help in any other way.  If he needs some accessories I can buy some for him.
