or for guys like me.       :biglaugh:

I've been bugging South for years to build shorter limbs.  He agreed to build the 56" limbs and now all the pestering has led to the prototype 54" static limbs for the Coyote.

Why do I need short limbs???  Because I primarily spot and stalk, I'd say 80% of my shots are taken from my knees.  Given that I'm short and like to keep my "bow cant" the same, I don't have much ground clearance when it comes to bows over 58".

Here's a "typical" kneeling shot but without the added obstacles like rocks, branches and brush.  These limbs allow for more than enough ground clearance for guys of my stature shooting from their knees.

Right on.  That's what I was waiting for to order one.  Love shorter bows.

I just can't shoot shorter bows well. Something about my 29 1/2" DL just does not like it. The only bow I own shorter than 62" is Hope, my Stalker longbow, and it is 60".

I really wish I could figure out how to shoot a short bow well because I do a bit of hunting out of ground blinds.

That one looks really neat! I'll be watching for the first dead goat pics with the new short bow!

Thanks Bisch,
I'm hoping to get it into the field soon!  Looks like Staci may be using this bow more than me since this prototype "missed weight".

I did an "informal force draw curve" today.  Cranked the bow out to 28".  Surprising no stacking out to 28".  I didn't want to crank that thing back any further though.  Maybe after I get a few hunts down, I'll crank it till it's "stacking point".

South is currently experimenting with the wedge for this 54" limb to accommodate for longer draw lengths.  So far the only downside is speed.  The speeds are not typical of his current Stalker line up.  Now it's time to try and find the balance between a "smooth draw" out to a desired draw length and acceptable speeds...

Looks good Ryan! Better clear off more shelf space if Staci is taking it hunting. I see another Euro mount or 3  :)

LOL Mike!  Yeah she loves these limbs.  She finally worked up to 40lbs.  She wants to chase axis with this bow,  hopefully we'll have an axis deer rug by the time or when you visit!      ;)

Charlie, I'm hoping to be a little more sneaky with this shorter bow.      :D

James, yeah I'm hoping we can get this right.  My buddy couldn't shoot his 62" Stalker out of his ground blind.

Axis trad hunting vid would be awesome!  A 54"er is definitely going to be in my lineup soon.

This is going to sound crazy but I have to shoot a 56" or shorter it seems.  You see, I'm built like a fire hydrant and my t-Rex arms don't allow me to shoot a longer bow.  The string angle on longer bows rests the string on my chest and just throws everything off.

Steadman,  didn't the elves work in a wood shop or was that a toy shop???     :D

Hahaha! Love it Ryan! You know he fits the bill. I thought they made toys out of wood   :)
