SO I go to my sons ( Pitt98) house yesterday for exchange of Christmas gifts. Unusual in that we usually do it as a group, but my son requested my wife and I come to his house first this year on the way to our Christmas Dinner location . SO we gave my son his gifts (mostly hunting gear and a new PITT camo hat LOL) Then with a bit of a fan-fare he brought in my gift . I was expecting nothing more than a few hunting clothing articles my self ,BUT as he walked in carrying a package approx 70" long , and about 8" wide with a HUGE grin on his face I knew I was in for something VERY SPECIAL !. His grin got wider still as I unwrapped the paper exposing a NEW Asbell bow case ( EXTRA ) and wider sitll as I got the bow case half way down and by that point had not only realized my new bow but the model and maker of the bow, before I even got it out of the case . How can ANYONE NOT recognize the quality, beauty and craftmanship of a Steve Tallant bow ! I had been one of the first people to comment( here on trad gang) on the Frontier 66 String Follow bow , when Steve introduced in July 2012 and my post had stated I was then looking to see what bows I could sell to buy one . WELL here I was holding one that was now MINE !
I was doubly surprised knowing that my son had put out a lot of money recently for his own EAGLE WING from Sixby , and again very recently to have a bow of his repaired by Jack Kempf, so had not even a clue that he could put out that much for me.
Sorry guys but IM at work now and cant post pics :-( But needless to say, even though I was dressed for indoor eating and it was 28 degrees out side , half hour after unwrapping my new gift found us grouping arrows at 14 yards, and GROUPING it was doing EXTREMELY WELL!.
The bow is right at 50 Lbs for my draw length and it felt more like 40 and BUTTER SMOOTH ! Bamboo cores and double carbon >> WOW > >>> . Rose wood riser with Leopard wood Center ! I cant wait for Turkey season now !!!!!!
WELL Thanks again to my son Jeff for this wonderful gift he couldnt have done better if he had asked first !!!! What a great son and lots of love between us and the out doors to thank for that all our lives .
Thanks to Steve Tallant ( sixby) for his talks with my son during the buying process and his craftsmanship and to Hatrick for his deal !
I have been involved n Trad Archery all my life ( IM 64 yrs old now ) Made arrows commercialy for 15 years, helped a custom bowyer make a few of my older bows in the 80s, and know the industry pretty well . The Trad community is the BEST to deal with when it comes to fair dealing and quality . People like Steve Tallant , Leon Stewart etc( not shunning any one just too many to post) put their heart and soul into their product and it shows. A labor of love is always quality !
Best regards to all here at this time of the year and wishng all had as wonderful a Christmas as I DID ! MERRY CHRISTMAS
