Contact Tim Farmer from Kentucky Outdoors. He is a super nice guy to speak with and that's how he shoots.

I thought I had posted to this thread earlier.

Terry cut out a leather piece the shape of a tadpole(sorta) then cut a slit in the head so you can pull the tail through it.

Wrap it around your string then put the tail threw the head and pull it tight on your string.

Do not use you front teeth. Start with a very light wt bow until you get the feel for it.

Somewhere in the archives there should be a video of me showing "How-to" with one.

Hang in there my friend....healing will come.

Happy New Year and God bless,Mudd

When you rip out your teeth you will screw your anchor with the swelling after implant reconstruction and be too broke for arrows.     Seriously though, best of luck with the rehab. About four years ago I blew a distal biceps tendon and had some surgical complications. Started back with an old 40# recurve at about 8 months, about 10 months could hunt with 60#s, and it took about 18 months to get back to 75#s. The comeback was all SAFE with the techniques previously talked about in the heavy bow thread...much of the method was your own advise. You already know it but listen to that tendon.
All the best.

What's funny is I could shoot my bow still before surgery...drawing was NO problem...the release caused a ting in the area....so I didn't push it.

Now I haven't shot at all it 3 weeks.....gotta do 'something'.

Terry, if you want to start out super light, I have Mohawk longbow that is 66", 33# @ 28". Nothing like what you are used to shooting, but with 1716's and 100 gr points it's not that slow.

I'd be glad to loan it to you for as long as you need it.

Hey Terry,
I have had a broken collar bone since Sept. 1, I learned to shoot with my teeth this season. It took a while but I finally killed a deer on 12/27.
I used a 40lb longbow. I went to the pet store and bought a  nylon webbed dog collar. I cut the collar to 3" long, then with a nail burned a hole in the the middle toward one end.
Next I went to the local proshop, and had them install a "string loop" which the guys with release's use. I ran the "string loop" through the hole in the nylon webbing, then attached the other end onto the bow string.
To shoot, I would bite down on the webbing with my back teeth, and push out wiht my left hand.
I became quite accurate out the 10-12 yards.
I will try to post pix tomorrow.
Feel free to PM me and I will send you my phone number if you have more questions. I also have a few extra's pieces left of the dog collar, would be willing to send them your way if you want.

Terry, a guy I know shoots with his teeth. He uses some sort of leather tab attached to his bowstring. He only has one arm. Believe me. This guy can shoot better with his one arm and teeth than almost anyone I know. He kills multiple deer each season as well. If I shoot with him he will outshoot me. He says that he shoots better now than he did 25 years ago when he lost his arm. I don't doubt him.

As a dentist I can't recommend shooting with your teeth...
( as a regular guy I'd say go for it, good luck, and stay away from your front incisors!  Actually your canines are probably the least likely to fracture.  Your premolars would seem the most natural, but I see a lot of broken buccal (cheek side) cusps on them.  Molars could work and being further back they'd really let you "snug up" into your anchor!)

Thanks Bisch for your kind words! It's been a challenging season, for sure.

I have been busy all morning with snow shoveling and building rainbow loom bracelets (if you have kids you will know what I mean) with the girls.
Heading to the woods shortly, and will be hunting all day tomorrow.
I will get pix out of my set up on Thrus.

Is that still " trad shooting?"  Maybe you should look at a foot bow I think they have a lot of potential.

Yep, I would go with my hoof I think.
Shooting my mouth off always gets me in trouble.

Seriously though, I missed what your problem is T, hope you get it healed quick and goodly.

Onion man, Congrats on your deer. COOL!
(I have rainbow bracelets also   )

Seems like I saw a video a few years ago of Dwight Schuh shooting a bow using his teeth. I think he said he had two shoulder surgeries.
