I just realized something. The top photo above that Roy posted, if you look carefully over my shoulder in the background you'll see a very low ladderstand. That's the stand I shot my big buck from this year. In fact, the rub I'm pointing too is the one he raked for seven straight minutes (he demolished it)before he gave me the shot. He was behind it and quartering to me. When he finally stepped clear, just to the left of the tree in the photo at 19 yds. I took him. You can't read my lips in this photo, but if you could I'm pointing at the tree saying, "This is where I'm going to kill my nice buck this fall." Ha, bw

Barry, I got the feeling last year when I saw this set-up this would be the place you would shoot your Buck this year.
That's why I posted this pic, see guys, Barry's Whitetail camp
Can give you ESP too.
I'm just saying !!!!

That is very cool Barry. Seems very open compared to the thickets I hunt. I'm glad you are offering your boot camp this year. Mike

An honest question here. would what you pass on be relevant to the steep mountain terrain with no agriculture of where I hunt?

Lets put it this way...I've hunted maybe 30 days since sept and seen 30 deer tops. I have been successful, but always looking for more knowledge to be more successful on mature deer.

I hunt structure, not necessarily just basic bedding/feeding patterns. Steeper mountain terrain is often easier to hunt/ pattern than flat terrain such as the popular south Texas brush country. Not seeing your terrain it's hard to say, but I wouldn't doubt you'd pick up a few valuable ideas to increase your sightings. I've used my techniques successfully from Montana, to the Midwest, to New England, to the south with good results. bw

Uncle Barry...got some vhs from the 80's....whitetail visions series. in the end of the vids you show cased your "trolling" techniques. id pay double the $ if you commit to implementing this as part of the bootcamp!!  man id love to go and get out of the north for a few days.

Hey Pete: I've slowed down the trolling technique a little the last few years. I assume you've tried it? You're welcome to sign up for one of the bootcamps but with your track record I understand I might learn something from you! Meanwhile, stay close to the A/C.  8^)  bw

Just saw Barry had two cancellations.  If anybody regrets not getting signed up when there were openings, now is your chance.

I am heading to the camp tomorrow - can't wait.  I was stationed up in Montana while Gene and Barry ran whitetail hunts over on the Milk River.  Every year I planned on doing one of those hunts but military committments kept me from attending.  I've been waiting for the chance to meet Barry for almost 20 years and now I get that opportunity.... won't be a hunting trip but it's the next best thing!

Who else is heading there this week?

Hard to believe there's still spots available. Better jump in on this guys. If you hunt big whitetails you owe it to yourself to attend a boot camp. You won't regret it.
