Bearpaw Feathers
« on: January 05, 2014, 07:32:00 PM »
Hi! I was wondering if anybody knew anything about  the quality of Bearpaw feathers?  I've only ever used  Trueflight and Gateway feathers.  One of our sponsors sells these and they are sure a lot cheaper.

Thanks!

I've used a couple dozen of the Bearpaws. Quality seemed good; they're cut a little higher profile than the TruFlights, and as I recall the quill is just a bit thinner (height wise). From the ones I tried, I think the TruFlights may have a slight edge in quality/consistency, but I wouldn't mind using the Bearpaws again. They also have some really bright colors, the flo yellow ones I had seemed to almost glow in low light.

I just got some in a few days ago and I am absolutly blown away at their quality.  Very nice quill base, much like a true flight. Not thick and bulky like the last few AMG sets I got.

I'm sold on them

I've used them on occasion.  I thought the quality was very good compared to the cost.

I have switched to them from Trueflight and fletch them  exclusively the past couple of years.  They are great feathers  without any issues with the unity of cut, quill base, or quality.  Priced nicely and great colors to choose from.  You won't be disappointed in them.

I don't think they are quite as good as Trueflight - not as thick and the quills can change from normal width to very thin within the length of a 5 inch feather.  However, the slightly lower quality is still very good when you consider the price difference from Trueflight.  I won't hesitate to use them again.
