Centaur "birthing" pics...
« on: January 11, 2014, 11:17:00 AM »
Had an earlier post to help decide on glass or Chimera.  Settled on glass/XTL,  here are some "birthing" pics.  Riser is Cocobola, limbs are Fiddleback Maple,  core is XTL/bamboo.

Going to have Jims 'standard' grip with no grooves, and black riser accents.

limbs before any stain, nice curl-

FRESH out of the form-

and im seeing some NICE Cocobola!!

Maple is kicking too...

and enough for now... the lams, Maple/XTL/Bamboo/Maple

Love the riser but "to me" and I'm known for being wrong sometimes but the riser looks more like Bocote or Zebra ...Might be just the lighting making it appear that way? Looks nice so far!

Keefer, its cocobolo for sure, just lots of black lines/contrast in the color.  I specified a piece like this, and Jim sure found it.

Hey Lamey, isn't it exiting and how fab is Jim to sent these photo's. He finished ours last week and just waiting on the strings delivery to ship ours to the UK. Can't wait to get my hands on to shoot. Mines a black & white ebony chimera with xtl's. Sure youve already seen the photo's but had to share your excitment !!!  He's really good to deal with isn't he? Got me a lovely piece of B&W ebony just as I asked for and hubby asked for striking bocote limbs and he did that too. Just fletching some arrows now waiting on the delivery. Bet we get them delivered just at the same time    :clapper:

Its going to be lovely Lamey.
I left my overlays to Jim choice - he chose carbon fibre to compliment the carbon fibre back :-)  Nice choice Jim :-)
