Gorgeous bow and great bowyer. Jim is indeed the salt of the earth!
I'm having a problem with the woods too though. Looks like Zebra to me and tamo or tuxedo ash veneers. The color must be really washed out of the pics. That is possible too. Very nice though.

God bless, Steve

Woods are definitely Cocobola and Fiddleback (curly) Maple.

Cocobola comes in MANY variations, ive used it for over 20 years and always surprised how much variation I find.    I asked Jim to find me a piece with logs of variation/black, which he did.... this is why it may look similar to Zebra.

The maple is definitely maple,  look at the pre stained pics.

Looking fwd. to more pics then getting it IN HAND!

here is a piece of cocobolo that also has the black lines and variation in base color (this piece actually had some orange/yellow in the board).

Jamie's (Yeharrr) Centaur handle has darker Cocobolo then it runs into the stripy lighter wood. I like it.
Nice knife BTW.

Lamey, NOw those last pics do look like cocabola. That sure is a neat looking bow. Good tips too.

Steve I figured it would start looking more like "traditional" cocobolo once he started on shaping.  If you look at the top pic on p2, it has that more traditional cocobolo look too.

The side that has all the black lines should be interesting once he contours the riser.

Going to dial in at 50-53#, perfect ;-)

thanks!  on this one I opted for no finger grooves.  Out of all the Centaurs ive shot, I just liked the non grooved models.

Should be done in a day or 2.
