I agree with you, PD.  Anyone who has gone knows there is no more bang for the buck anywhere.  The experience is definitely worth it if one can afford it.....and good companions make a huge difference!  I treasure my time there.  However, it is also only fair to be realistic: come back from ANY big hunt anywhere with an animal that you are going to mount and the expense will be higher.  Bring 6 or more animals from halfway around the world, and THEN have them mounted.....added to the airfare, it's something that a fellow planning the trip should think about.

I have said twice that I won't go again.... but, I'm thinking about it.....again!

you have to love Africa.  The wife and I went in 2000 and I still have vivid dreams of our days there.  One day I hope to return with some other tradgang brothers.
