Yaak:

I have used chlorophyle tablets for years.  Although I can't prove they reduce my scent, I believe they do.  Using them is just one more action a bowhunter can take to improve his odds of getting within bowrange of an animal.  Before tablets were available, I drank liqid chlorophyle.  Now that was some nasty tasting stuff.

I tried them for a while.  Didn't notice a change in scent, but it did make for some funky colored poop.

I do cut my red meat intake, which seems to help the most.  When protein breaks down in the body it created ammonia which converts into a less toxic form called urea.  Urea is found in urine and sweat.  THe more meat, the more urea, and the more stink.

Shower with unscented soap and hunt the wind.

I got some activated charcoal pills to try this year, along with some powder to pour into my boots, and mix with my clothes in trash bags.

I started researching a bit to see if it might be possible to buy activated charcoal powder and create a scentlok type of effect without having to worry about reactivation or any of that.

Turns out, the stuff is used to clear indigestion and claims all kinds of health benefits.  Moreover, you can put it in pet's food to get rid of bad odors.  Seems like maybe it will work, but won't know much until I start experimenting with it.

It isn't real expensive.  I reckon there's only a few dollars worth of activcated carbon in those scent lock suits - you can buy pounds of the stuff for like $20.

Or you can make your own, although I wouldn't try to make the medical grade stuff to eat...

You can buy Nullo from any large drug stores.  It's used for patients with incontinence (sp), or those that must wear adult diapers.  It reduces all human waste odors.  Works pretty well.

I also use Nullo and recommend it.I usually see a fare share of game and I think it is one of many factors that help this.

My mate and I used them for years to hunt red deer in the Brisbane Valley and I don't think they work. Mike I think you are on the right track there mate. If you could convince your hunting partener to use it for face paint and you don't use it you at least keep the flies of  your eyes...Glenn...

I get mine from my pharmacist (chemist in UK-speak, I think). They are intended to be used by colostomy patients.

While I have zero experience with chlorophyll tablets that can be bought in health food stores, I have confidence that pharmacologically pure tablets are verified to work and be safe while I would buy a pig in a poke at the health food store.

I take 20 percent more tablets than directions show, for three days prior to the beginning of the season. Thereafter, I take directed dosage throughout the season.

It will discolor both urine and bowel defecation. It is completely harmless biologically. And your body odor and bodily eliminations will become nearly none.

While my regimen is more expensive than most other users, I consider it to be an essential hunt preparation.

Hope this helps.
