The responses are spot on guys....Tim...I was checking my stands in October after work and it was hot and I had flipflops on. I have deer and hogs and lots of both. I saw one cross the road and walked up where he went and there were a pile of them. I wanted the skins but only dispatched one because it was dark and I didn't know how many more were behind me. It was a creepy feeling when you see the leaves moving. They won't kill you but a friend got hit on his big toe by one last year and he had 2 weeks of brutal pain.......2 weeks! I get them all of the time as I seem to have the perfect habitat for them. Those are all Broadbands and are beautiful on bows but hard to find them big enough. These were all large as the one that I killed was 30 inches. By the way....There were 4 that I could see when I took the pic. The 5th was on the outside and I got him and only the good Lord knows how many were really there.

Wowser! I see three. I don't think I would have hung around there long enough to take a pic, especially if I was wearing flip-flops!

Very cool snakes, I love their natural camo. Find them very docile and not at all wound up like a lot of rattlesnakes.

I live in one of those lucky places that doesn't get ticks or snakes. Two years ago I killed a copperhead in my back yard. I've lived here my whole life (54 years) and it was the first one I ever saw.

I am not really afraid of snakes, but I sure wouldn't want to be hanging out right there.

They sure do look good on a bow. Anyone ever eat a copperhead? I hear rattle snake is pretty good.

I've eaten rattlesnake and it was very good. I have also heard that any snake is good eatin' but I've only heard of people eating rattlers first-hand.
I believe I'd try it, should I get the chance to kill another copperhead.

I see a hospital bill most of us can`t afford. They say a snake won`t mess with you unless you mess with him but had you stepped on that pile while walking you woulda been in some trouble. Don`t like`m.RC

I've got a terrier that goes and and finds the lil devils, drags in a couple every year. First one about killed him but now he seems immune except the gland under his neck swells up. It's almost like he enjoys the bite. My wife says it may be the shot of shine I pour down him to help with the pain afterwards but I don't think so.
I like 'em best like this…..
