Hi guys, I'm new to this site and to trad archery only been shooting 3 months. can anyone help me with silencing my buffalo. I've tried saunders whisker silencers but they fall off after 100 or so shots! I've tried twisting the strings etc. I dont have this problem with my big five. damn recurves!

Get somebody else to shoot it and stand off a ways, I bet it's not as loud as you think! Also limb silencers do wonders. Check out the Limb Jax by Bowjax. Other options are heavier arrows, wool puffs are more resilient than the cat whiskers.

Various bows, but if you see me shooting, it's probably a Toelke in my hand!

SBD string with double cat whiskers. Call Pierre, I guarantee he will solve your problem.

BCY-X string, Flemish, 20 strands with the loops padded to 24. Served to fit the arrow nock--not too tight, not too loose. Adjust to find the proper brace, then silencers installed and adjusted to find the "sweet spot". Heavier arrows can help, but proper tuning and a well made string is the key.

Thanks for the help guys! I think i'm going to try the puff ball silencers. Traditional archery is so tricky LOL. Still I'm way happier shooting longbows and recurves than compounds

A friend if mine has a buffalo and it was loud from the start. We tried every silencer combo whe had with no luck. What finally quitened that bow was a good string. I think it 8190 and it wasnt skinny and it made a world of difference

Yeah i hear a lot of different things about buffalos. With mine the rubber whiskers really helped, only problem was they fell off after 100 shots or so!

How did you install them? If the rubber whiskers fell off they weren't installed right.

Yarn puffs and limbsavers did a world of differance for me. Like mentioned above need to find your sweet spot also. I have also put felt on the string grooves and a rubber washer between the limb and limb bolt on my Buff.I am running a stock string also.

Get a better string. My buddy put a new string I made for him and it tamed it right down. Listen to what Chad says, a well made string makes a huge difference!

The Buffalo comes with felt pads to put on the upper limbs but they always became skewed so I wrap my strings in wool yarn where they contact the limbs. Try that too. Woolies are so simple to make and there are many instructions on the internet.
I just put my lighter limbs back on mine and it was sounding harsh with the new string I put on it but the woolies and wool wraps silenced it.
