Hey gang...Please give me your opinions on which glass color you like better for a hunting bow AND what single color riser wood you'd pick to match the glass and why......Thanks

I like both.....you can even do Black on the front and Brown on the belly. I like cocobolo and osage with almost anything. I have heard some boywers feel that black glass preforms better. Both colors will blend in well in the woods.

I like the looks of black glass with either red cocobolo or bocote.

I really think it's a personal choice.  My preference would be brown glass and either a walnut or zebra riser.  Aside from personal preference, I also think that brown blends into the woods better than black (deer, squirrels, rabbits, etc...)

I've noticed that, at least where I hunt, there doesn't seem to be very much actual black in the woods.  There's a lot of dark gray but anything that is actually black seems to jump out at me.  I think a lighter color would blend in better.  Brown or even green or red, since deer are color blind, would appear as some shade of gray just like everything else to their eyes.  My opinion is that the absolute best camo for a bow is snake skin.  Never had one with skins myself but have been around quite a few and they really blend in.

Oh, and I think zebra wood looks great with brown.  For woods with a redish hue, like cocobolo, bubinga, pau fero, etc. I prefer black glass.  Just my personal preference.  Others that I like with brown would be walnut, curly maple, bocote, and shedua.  Here's a late 60s Ben Pearson Hunter with zebra wood/brown glass.

I like the looks of Brown Glass but have seen some ugly stuff that almost looked purple once.  I guess it would depend on what the Bowyer had in stock. If its the purple stuff I would go with Black.

There are Hundreds of great wood choices. I think some of the best have been listed.

I am in that situation right now and I let the bowyer select according to what he has to work with...he sent me some pictures after glue up and it is Osage with black glass...nice combo

You know something bro.... that purple looking brown glass has to do with the curing process at Gordon Glass, and only looks like that when you get it. Once it's sanded and finished it's a nice chocolate brown again. I freaked out when i first got the stuff myself....

Brown looks really good with Zebra wood... but Black is still my favorite. It goes good with any riser wood.IMO

Since my go-to bow has black glass, I guess that is what I like best! The riser on my bow is a solid piece of cocobolo, and it looks sweet!

I have a pair of brown and black that Brandon Stahl made for my Bear T/D's. The brown one's look nice with the Supreme and the Bubinga riser's, and I use the black one's on the older handles.

Bocote for either glass color in HH bows looks good with same color wrap.  Brown looks nice with myrtle risers as well as does white.
