I woke this morning to hunting and saw it was snowing! Yes, I'm going to enjoy this. I made the slow drive to my friends house; the roads were not plowed yet. Once I was there the snow stopped, but forecast was for snow until 8am. We hiked up the mountain which was a little tougher than usual from that little bit of slip from the wet snow. Once on top and getting set up, the snow began to come down pretty hard and steady. There were several points in the morning I had to clean the ice off my arrow and shelf of my bow. There was one point that I had about an inch of snow coating my entire body. By the time I got out of my ambush spot, the trail had been wiped clean of my tracks coming in.
We stump shot our way home along the trails. I didn't see any deer while sitting, but we jumped a few on the hike out. All in all a great morning.
We stopped at this vantage point for a little refreshment break near a beaver pond.
