Thanks, Jerry

Now that's gonna be a long build-along. I think it took the Doc 6 months to complete the one he uses now. He did his one thread of yarn at a time. Thats not a joke!  :bigsmyl:

First couple photos are out in the woods but scroll down and you'll see the ghillie on a hanger.

this is a home made Ghillie i have. it was made using the camo netting and pieces of burlap and other camo material.

rolled up for the pack:

hanging in some brush without the hunter:

this is a cloak type ghillie so it doesn't cover the legs.

I made mine from a kit that I prchased from BushRag.com .  I only purchased the burlap yarn, not the netting.  I already had a Leafy Wear suit, so that was my base.  I cut 2 1" slits about 3/4" apart, then bundled up 5-10 burlap strands, pushed them through the slits and tied a double knot.  I did this ovr and over and over again until I was satisfied.  You must stop and put it on in front of a mirror so you can add where you need it, and trim it where you don't.  After I was satisified with the burlap, I added leaves that I purchased from Sneaky Leaf.  The jacket was sufficient enough to not warrant doing the pants.  I wear the pants as well, just with no strings attached!!  I also made the head cover by using a boonie hat and a small piece of netting.  I placed the rectangluar piece of netting on the hat, favoring the back, and securing it with burlap yarn.  Then I just tied on the burlap yarn and added some leaves as well.

I then put it into a pillow case and washed it in Sports Wash, then in Baking Soda.  Then I hung it outside for 2 weeks to "season" it.  Total cost was about 80 bucks, but it is time consuming.

Good Luck.
