Curious who's got my old 56" Silvertip (found it)
« on: January 24, 2014, 04:38:00 PM »
This is one of those "what was I thinking" times. Traded it for another bow on here many years ago. I was able to follow it for a few years but have since lost track of it. It's a 56" Walnut Dymondwood riser and camo limbs. Marked 54#@28" and Custom made for N. Dodge.

I know it. Traded it for a run of the mill gray bark widow too. A bow you can find for sale anytime…

believe it or not, I've had both of those bows mentioned at one point (and a 56" Schafer LB).

All of those bows had outstanding grips but were a touch short for my draw. Still wish I had them back though...

I draw 29.5 to 30" with NO stacking or problems at all.  You must have really long arms:)  I sent mine back to Dave and had him refinish it and narrow the limb tips.  I also added antler knobs.  Shes perty now:)

Keith,  No stack at all for me either on the recurves. The LB would start to stack past 28" or so and Dave recommended that bow for shorter draws only. For whatever reason I just couldn't shoot the shorter bows as well as I could my 58 &60" Schafers.

The one you have Keith is one of the prettiest Schafers I've seen

Thanks fellas. Good to know it's still out there. Always wish I would've kept that bow for my Dad. He shot that bow lights out and I always intended on giving it to him. Then I decided to trade it on a whim. Whoever has it, if you'd part with it, please let me know.
Thanks,
Nate

That's funny.

I might have to dig through the old camera and see what pics I can find of that one. Been years since I had it and I'm not 100% sure where the old memory cards are. Maybe whoever has it can post pics?

Not sure how to post pics here. But if this works, here's a pic from another sight I just found. Has different antler knobs, but that's the bow.

Oh well, 'tis better to have loved and lost..., right?… lol

Would've been nice to have it back, but that's on me for parting with it in the first place…

Pics sent Cat.  I would love to have this Wolverine.  Im not a fan of the 3pc Silvertip longbows unless they were 60".  But this 56" would be nice for the hemlocks and cedars I hunt in.  Just bad timing.
