Steve was a hell of a guy who really loved archery.  He was a devote lover of Yew and made some great bows.

This is a loss to our community.

This is so sad.

I've been shooting his bows for many years and recently bought my 4th one from him. We talked at Denton Hill last summer and renewed our friendship. It was very good to see him again.

Steve was a heck of a nice guy who made beautiful bows. I am glad I knew him.

My prayers to his family.

Dave

Steve was one of those guys you always look forward to visiting with. I think he was probably younger than I am, too young to go, for sure. Sad to hear.

Always enjoyed talking with Steve.  Owned several of his bows and really appreciated his work.  Super nice guy...gone way too early!  Sad.

Happy hunting my Friend!

It is sad news to hear of Steve's sudden illness and death. I am shocked! Steve was very kind to me. After I bought my first Abbott longbow Steve offered to stop at my city on his way out East to a shoot so we could have coffee together. He also donated bows to our troops in Afghanistan.

It says in bold letters on the Abbott longbow home page:

Keep on Shootin' Steve!

Wow shocking. Anyone know what happened? I always say you can tell how well a bowyer builds a quality bow by how many you see for sale on the Classifieds. You never see Abbott Longbows there.
