We are thinking of bringing these back to the market. I have to do some shear force testing but they have got to be considerably stronger than just the stem on a typical adapter.

I'm with ya on this one Bill, those glue-in/glue-on adapters are the strongest means of putting a BH on a carbon or aluminum shaft.

I need to get some for my AD shafts, I guess they have the same insert diameter as the Grizzly Stik shafts.

I use the aluminum version of these in my 2018 & 2020 shafts.

I like the idea of your broadhead adapter. My first impression is that they will indeed be stronger than a typical threaded adapter but as you pointed out only testing will prove or disprove their strength.

As for myself... I use a 100 gr brass insert, plus a 125 gr threaded adapter, and then add a 225 gr broadhead to my arrow. So for those of us who are building for extreme, and ultra-extreme, FOC may I make a suggestion? It would be beneficial to incorporate an "add a weight" type system into your adapter, something similar to what Gold Tip does with their brass inserts, which allows for adding 25 or 50 gr weights to the insert, allowing the user to add as much weight as is desired. This would cut down on cost of manufacturing and give the end user the ability to customize the adapter to the weight they desire. However, I do not know if they hold a patent on the design and system. (Just one mans opinion)

If testing proves a strength benefit vs threaded adapters, and if weights met my criteria, then I would gladly purchase and use the adapter.

I have been using these on my aluminum arrows for about 15 years, even with feild ponts. I get the shaft kinking/bent right behind the end of the adaptor on hard impacts and cant remember any that have broken. I have some old stock easton 2020 adaptors that are about 2 inches long inside the shaft that seem to help prevent the shafts from kinking. If you do start producing these having them longer might be something to look at...................

Great idea Bill. My first thought was similar to BAPilot2 - where am I going to get the weight up front that I need for the FOC I want. Then I started thinking, with the variety of heavy broadheads available now it would seem that isn't going to be a problem - most weight configurations should be possible with off the shelf broadheads.

Foc should be easy with an Alum/steel/brass adapter,AND all of the many heavy heads.
I am with Hvyhitter. A little longer than the old ones.

These weigh only about 33 grains but should be very strong. I'm just looking for a way to get the weight in the broadhead BUT have a ridiculously strong connection between the arrow and broadhead. Thicker steel in the broadhead obviously means a much stronger head. In a single bevel broadhead ie Grizzly's ( :D ) the thicker steel also means a wider bevel. The wider the bevel the more twisting force can be applied to the tissue.

I used them exclusively on my aluminum arrows. Much stronger than a screw in adapter. Do have any plans on making any 5/16ths taper for the Zwickey eskilites? Would like to start my grandson out on those with a 75gr adapter. And possibly for me on ground hog arrows. The bigger heads are tuff to get out on a head shot.

Bill, 33 grains seems light for a steel adapter, are they hollow? Or are they aluminum?

These particular ones are aluminum. If these become a reality and go over well. I will be more than happy to make some steel ones. Sheer test will tell us for sure but I think these in aluminum will be VERY strong when compared to a stem style adapter.

I am a big fan of glue in glue on adapters. In fact they are all I use any more. I like the looks of yours and having them available in aluminum, steel and brass would provide a bunch of different weights for tune options. Can't wait to get my hands on some to test.

I'd personally like to see a little more grip length going inside the shaft. Just bought my first pack of grizzlies the other day, can't wait for elk season!

Currently use the 75grn brass adapters for mounting all field tips and broadheads on my carbon arrows.
