Pig Hunting
« on: February 02, 2014, 11:00:00 PM »
Headed down to Ft Stewart for a week of pig hunting.  A first for me with traditional gear.  Boy was it a fun trip.  100% spot a stalk.  But actually more like walk your butt off till to finally luck into a few hogs.  Weather was very cold and the hogs seemed to lay up in the thick cover till early afternoon when we seemed to get into them the most.  We ended up with 4 gigs shot and recovered and a fews that were hit and lost.  All I can say is that pig hunting seems to be made for traditional gear.  Can't wait to go back.

My buddy

Well worth the 9 hour drive from MD.  Weather could have been a  little more cooperative but that's hunting.  This will be an anual event for me that's for sure.

Does Ft Stewart still require a shooting test prior to hunting?  If so, how did you schedule it to work with your travel?

Yes they still require a skill test.  We called ahead and scheduled for when we arrived.
